Perhaps I am biased, I prefer my art Modern and complex but for whatever reason the PDX art museum likes to keep things dull and lifeless. I dont think its really worth the cost of admission to go but if you like the idea of saying you went it won't be a total loss. more
I have been to some great art museums - Art Instititute in Chicago, National Gallery in London, Louvre and Musee d'Orsay - and I was not expecting such a great collection at the Portland Art Museum. Portland's Art Museum is very special.Recently,I enjoyed its great exhibition of Dutch Master paintings from Amsterdam's Rijkmuseum(Rembrandt,Frans Hals,Isaac Elyas,Jan Steen just to name a few).I also enjoyed its excellent permanent collection of Italian Renaissance paintings,French paintings,American paintings,and Twentieth Century Art.
